About Christensen Harbison Optometrists

Christensen Harbison Optometrists was established over 70 years ago, back in 1952. From the beginning, we’ve been an independent operator and a completely local business that our community knows and trusts. Those are two things we’ve been proud to maintain to this day and our team of warm and professional staff consistently delivers the kind of thoughtful and personalised care that makes customers come back over the years.

As impressive as our history is, we always look to the future to deliver the best innovations available in optometry to our clients. We’re not just optometrists, we’re here to work thoroughly and patiently with you through every step of the process to ensure you get the best possible experience when it comes to vision care.

Meet your optometrists:

Anthony Mulvahil

Anthony joined the team at Christensen Harbison Optometrists in 2006 after moving to the area to be closer to family. Having graduated from QUT as an optometrist in 1999, he completed a Graduate Certificate in Ocular Therapeutics in 2011. Anthony went on to join John Harbison as a partner and co-director in 2015 and upon John’s retirement in 2022, took over the business which has been serving the Bundaberg community for over 70 years. When he’s not at the practice giving exceptional service and care, you’ll find him with his wife and two sons, at the beach, watching documentaries or cheering on the North Queensland Cowboys.

Sarah Hawe

Sarah joined the team at Christensen Harbison Optometrists in 2022. Sarah grew up in Bundaberg and attended Shalom Catholic College. Having an interest in optometry, Sarah went on to QUT and completed a Bachelor of Vision Science and Masters of Optometry in 2018. Sarah has since added to her studies, with a Graduate Certificate in Children’s Vision in 2022. Sarah enjoys spending her free time with family and friends, playing volleyball or paddleboarding at the beach.
